McLaren Vale
Jock Harvey is known for his winemaking successes. Now, staying true to his Scottish ancestry, he has collaborated with his winemaking colleagues in the McLaren Vale to create a superb Australian whiskey. His unique creation is aged in wine and fortified casks from wineries throughout Australia to yield fine, limited-edition single malts.
It could be said that whisky is in Jock’s blood; his ancestral line meandering all the way back to one of Scotland’s most northerly mainland townships, Wick. In 1839, his ancestor, John Harvey, settled in Australia and began farming. Since then, the following five generations of Harveys have had a close affinity with the rich fertile earth of McLaren Vale and its vines.
Today, Jock brings a finely tuned palate and decades of wine industry nous to the whisky making process. More than that, he has developed lifelong friendships and a far-reaching network of colleagues in the wine community, many of whom are pleased to collaborate and help make a great Australian whisky.
